The Need to BE. Identity.

One common human experience worldwide, in every culture, and in every nation is the need to be--i.e. 'identity'. Identity is the context in which we live our lives, and out of which we view the world around us. Male or female; race; nationality; spirituality; economics; education; family; friends---so many forces shaping and moulding our 'identity'.

But, life is so fluid, isn't it? So many unforeseen changes that affect and alter our 'identity'. If we live long enough, some of us won't even remember our 'identity'. A new one clothes us--- old age, a faltering mind, and the haunting question, will anyone remember us, and if they do, 'who' will they remember us as? Even the most noble among us may be--forgotten. Is this it? "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God!"

Paul the Sent out One in a letter he wrote to the church in Rome, 8:18-21. In other words, our human identities we clothe ourselves with today, must give way, like an old shell or skin that must be discarded, so that our true identity will be revealed in its time. We are children of God! This gives me the proper perspective to live my life each day! It allows me to see a bright and shining future full of hope and glory! And, no matter what current 'identity' I may be expressing myself in and through, I know who I really am! Wow! Makes me want to laugh and dance at the same time! And, I know that is who your really are--whoever is reading this post
